Johnston, SC, also suffered during the same ice storm. It is only a 40 minute drive north by northeast from Aiken, after all.

I decided that I shouldn't miss the opportunity to photograph my much-loved peach fields at their most otherworldly moment. Surely, I thought, the peach fields must be as surprised as its owners by the freeze.

One of my photographs won the first prize for art submissions in the literary magazine Broken Ink, as selected by USC-Aiken faculty.
